| It has been awhile since I have been here on Xanga. I have been doing a project called Chassing99 and it takes up alot of time. However I do write a Church oriented blog here and that is where this entry come from. I have been revisiting the film series by Francis Schaeffer this week. I am amazed at how we as modern Americans edit and or forget history. We have such short term memory. Of course the biggest problem in USAmerica today is postmodernism. It has infiltrated every area and aspect of our lives. Specifically it is rotting the church, many churches today are courting the Emergent Church and listening to the Emergent Leaders who are teaching full-on Liberalism. I don't mean the way we banter the term about talking about music and facial hair, I mean liberal in the since that they would have no problem denying the Virgin Birth or any other Fundamentals of the Faith. We need to ensure that as we reexamine the church and it's role in society and how we are to worship corporately that we do not allow the desire to put "our"church into place to cloud Biblical Doctrines. So as Schaeffer asks us... How Should We Then Live. In the light of knowing that relativism (postmodernism) has infiltrated every area of our lives we have only one option. We (Christendom) must return to Biblical Christianity. We must understand and believe that the Bible is the very Word of God and that every word is true and anything that contradicts the scriptures is WRONG. Relativism must be rejected across the board in every area of our lives. The ramifications of rejecting relativism as we work on our lives will surprise all of us, just how much postmodern thought has infiltrated our minds. My prayer for all of you today is that you fall in love with God's Word and that you seek the Lord.... Be Well | | |
| In the past couple of days I have been studying the Western Church. In current times there are basically 4 types of churches. The Modern Church, The Boomer Church, The Emergent Church, and the Organic Church. I will break those down simply for you momentarily but first a word of explanation. Why study church types, because the ClayHouse is in a time of transformation. This has caused me to do a compass check, so in the next few days I will explain each type of church. | | |
| Well it has been awhile since I have written a blog entry. So today I thought I would fill you in on a "program" we are involved in here at the ClayHouse. It is called Chasing99. The point is that we will all chase after God for the next 99 days. The tool that we have is 3 Bible reading plans. The first takes you through the whole Bible in 99 days it is very aggressive. The second is to read through the New Testament in 99 days and the third is to read the Gospels and Acts. We started the program on 9.9.09 and from what I can tell everyone is doing very well with it. I can speak for myself and I don't spend near enough time in the OT specifically in those passages that have the laws and the building plans and the genealogies. So this has been really good for me to revisit some of those old stories that we think we know. It is very enlightening to see how much detail we have made up in some areas and how much detail is in scripture in others. well I guess I will let you all go, I pray that your day will be filled with the Blessing of God. | So have you been seeing the Town Hall Meetings? People raging out against the new Socialized Medicine program. I love this because the media is blaming it on Fox News, they are saying it is organized etc... What is great is that it is just pure anger and the Dems are shocked because they cannot believe people would question anything they have to say. They have been listening to the loud minority and not the silent majority. The moral to this story is that the Silent Majority has got to stand up and be heard! Well that is all that I have to say right now so.... Be Well | | |
| Well life is more like a walk through a trail than a box of chocolates. You see on the trail you come to these great places and you stop by and enjoy yourself for awhile, then you move on. So most of you know that I was working at a cigar shop and it was fruitful to some degree. However things had taken a turn and not for the better and the spiritual fight was beginning to take its toll. So the Lord and I had a conversation and He told me my time was up there, I had done all I can do. So like a hike through the wilderness, I have left the open field and have walked into the woods. Not knowing where the trail will lead and not being able to see what is up ahead. Just walking one step at a time just seeing what is right here and right now. Trusting the Lord for what he has in store for us and knowing that it will be far greater than anything I could imagine. At the moment what I have is time, time to focus on the family, and the future of ClayHouse. We are definitely going to work on finding a new place to meet on Sunday's and to refocus our attention to those studies that have survived this spiritual warfare. Keep us in your prayers and we will keep you in ours... Be Well | | |
